Center for Disabilities Studies – The mission of the Center for Disabilities Studies is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through education, prevention, service, and research related to disabilities. We promote independence and productivity so individuals and families can fully participate in the life of their communities in Delaware and beyond.

Council for Exceptional Children – International professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative – The Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI) connects Delawareans who have disabilities with the tools they need in order to learn, work, play, and participate in community life safely and independently.

Delaware System of Student Assessment – Information about the Delaware System of Student Assessments (DeSSA) that includes Smarter ELA and Math, and Science.

Delaware Department of Education – Information on all aspects of student education and achievement in Delaware.

Delaware Helpline – A service which provides information on state government agencies and referrals to community resources. DELAWARE HELP!LINE now includes a state government information service that links callers to appropriate state offices, legislators and employees, and continues to provide needs assessment, problem resolution and referrals for callers with health or human service needs.

Dynamic Learning Maps ® (DLM ® ) – Delaware’s alternate assessment designed for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities for whom general state assessments are not appropriate, even with accommodations. DLM assessments offer these students a way to show what they know and can do in mathematics, English language arts, and science. Family Shade – Connecting Children with Special Healthcare Needs with Community Resources. Family SHADE, the Family Support and Healthcare Alliance Delaware: A community dedicated to supporting families of children with disabilities and chronic medical conditions.

Family Voices – Family Voices aims to achieve family-centered care for all children and youth with special health care needs and/or disabilities.

Governor’s Advisory Council for Exceptional Children – The Council provides leadership to improve the lives of exceptional citizens of all ages through advice and advocacy.

Parent Information Center of Delaware – Organization provides families and caregivers of children with disabilities or special needs easy access to information, training and resources so as to improve their children’s developmental and educational outcomes.

U.S. Department of Education – ED’s mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.
